Colleagues, your lay abstracts have been read, edited and graded by students in Mrs. Mouch's AP Biology class at Indian Hill High School! The students thought the abstracts were generally understandable, but they had some suggestions for improvements. I will return the marked papers during class tomorrow.
Check the video.
Many thanks to our expert Lay Readers and to Mrs. Mouch!

Big thank you for the Lay Readers. It seemes that they liked our jobs, whcih is great. Hopefully we got good grades in rturn.
ReplyDeleteI noticed that they were struggling with most of our names. Maybe thta's why they couldn't name many of us in the video.
True, they had trouble with several of the names.
DeleteBy the way, I couldn't understnd what was going on with "Mohammad". And which Mohammad they were referring to?
ReplyDeleteI had shown them pictures of everyone in the Scientific Writing class so they could identify with the person whose abstract they were reading. They thought that one of their students, Ajay, looked a lot like Mohammed Aldawsari.
DeleteAha! I was wondering what they were talking about because they were speaking too fast for me to follow.
DeleteCan't wait to see their feedback.
Their excitement is so funny. Rahul....cookies!! I like it.
ReplyDeleteWaiting for their comments on my recipe aammmm abstract;)

ReplyDeleteLoved the comment that the reader couldn't even pronounce "apolipoprotein".
ReplyDeleteI like their excitement about our work, probably we will see one of them here some day. Who knows;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading our Lay Abstracts! I'd like to wish you guys the best in the future. Ya'll are probably a smart bunch taking AP Bio as juniors as I did years ago. Make the best of Senior year, make it memorable. Your highest priority should be to "Ball so hard" at life and go to grad school one day (think about MD/PhD programs).
ReplyDeleteDr. Brackenury, is there some way the high school students can read this post or is it too late.
I would like to thank them for their comments on our lay abstracts. Especially, the person who graded my abstract However, I'm wondering about our pictures from where you got them!!
