A few months ago I was watching TV while washing dishes and I saw a show that was all about the World Choir Games competitions. In 2010, the games were held in Shaoxing, China. Choirs from all over the world travel to the host country and compete in a variety of genres, including Musica Sacra, Folklore, Popular Choral Music, Jazz and many more. I love choral music and, in addition to the fabulous music, the show highlighted the joy experienced by the extraordinary mix of people from so many countries and cultures. I was really excited and was thinking, "I wonder where the next Games will be held - man, if it's anywhere feasible, I'm buying tickets and going!"
Amazingly, at the end of the show, they announced that the next Choir Games would be held in Cincinnati starting July 4th, 2012! Well, I'm there! If you're interested, check out the website: World Choir Games.

So happy to know such excited news. I'm in. Music is my second life.
ReplyDeleteIt must felt terrific to learn that it’s coming to you rather than you going to it.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, this is my first time to learn about the World Choir Games. I checked out the website and watched some videos on YouTube and I liked it. It would be great to watch it live. Since it’s coming to Cincinnati; I think I’m buying a ticket if I’m not going to Jordan.
I love it when stuff happens like that! How exciting! Since I first read this, I’ve learned what a huge deal this is to Cincinnati. How did they even decide on Cincinnati? The lab assistant in our lab just told me how they are reorganizing the cab system for this. Supposedly, they are going to have stricter regulations and they’re increasing prices to more accurately reflect the regional rates. They’re also going to require special training so that all the drivers are well informed about the event. Should be interesting.
